We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader who is for our Ballast Water Treatment team based in the Netherlands or Greece-Thessaloniki to join our Mr. Marine team. Applicants from these locations are welcome to apply for this position. 

General: 

Leading a team of project managers in the fulfilment of Ballast Water Treatment service projects. Create an environment which encourages and inspires the team to be their best whilst focused on driving results to meet the organizational goals and objectives. Continuously identifying process gaps and seeking to enhance productivity and service quality to achieve operational excellence. The Team Leader reports to the Director of Operations.

Job Description:

  • Leading a team of Project Managers responsible for the coordination of Ballast Water service projects of Mr. Marine Engineers on board of sea-going vessels including quoting, processing orders and planning service attendance on board

  • Manage communication with customers and subcontractors throughout the project

  • Measure, monitor and manage team performance focused on the main team targets: revenue, gross margin, hit rate and customer satisfaction

  • Manage resources in the most efficient and effective way

  • Leading, coaching and developing Project Managers in the team

  • Ensure the team utilizes best practices, techniques and standards and identify improvement opportunities in efficiency and effectiveness

  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions within team and cross-team

  • Establishing work plans for coordinating multiple projects at a given time frame

  • Participate in regular progress meetings with clients to understand their needs and follow up on specific issues/escalations

  • Good cooperation with the Account Management and Technical team to achieve the company’s overall objectives

  • Create and maintain safety awareness amongst employees and subcontractors in the project

  • General administration of projects

Job requirements

Functional Requirements:

  • First-level university degree preferably with a technical background

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar senior or leadership function within the maritime industry

  • Good written and verbal expression skills; internal and external contacts to be treated correctly; handle people in a flexible way

  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus

  • Familiarity with the TICC industry is a plus

  • Knowledge of the Ballast Water Treatment System and the BWTS regulation is a plus
